Laura is a very popular regular at the Millport Farmers Market. Folks stand in line to buy her famous fried pies. They are freshly made from home or onsite and taste absolute delicious! If you want to make sure there are some treats left for you, please go ahead and order them in advance.
Pick Up
If you have a craving for Laura’s fried pies when she’s not at market, contact her to place a special order. She takes fried pie and other bake goods orders that are available for pick up in person. Always available because there’s never a wrong time for dessert!
Events
Laura offers catering of fried pies, regular size pies, cakes and other baked goods for events. Locals who love her fried pies often have them at their special events, such as weddings, birthdays, and local church functions. She offers a mini version of her fried pies – great for events. Fried Pies
You’ll never look at fried pies the same way again! Laura offers a variety of flavors, all of which are made fresh from high quality ingredients. It all starts with a special dough recipe that bakes up crisp and crunchy, yet tender and flaky. Each crust is filled with sweet or savory ingredients. Flavors include:

Meet
Laura Hopper,
The Pie Lady
Laura’s Sweet Treats officially began back in 2017, but Laura’s love and passion for baking began in early childhood. She loved baking with her grandmother, learning many of her baking techniques during this special time together. Making southern fried pies were their favorites.
Laura regularly made fried pies for her family, friends and church. She always knew that preparing food for others was her calling. Her friends encouraged her to establish her own small business making fried pies for the local community.
For Laura, however, pie making isn’t a weekend affair. It’s a huge part of her everyday life. Not only does she sell her fried pies at the Millport Farmers Market, she sells fried pies, regular pies, cakes and cheesecakes to individuals and for events. Laura is a very popular woman, so popular, the Lamar County locals call her the “Pie Lady”.
In addition to the Millport Farmers Market, Laura brings her Sweet Treats to regular events in Millport, Vernon and Sulligent. Visit her Facebook page to follow upcoming events and to learn what’s in the oven.
